Shielding His Eyes at Target

Gavin and I were in the check out line at Target one chilly evening recently, when Gavin spied this gem on the magazine rack. I caught him staring at it for the longest moment, the wheels in his head were cranking away. The headline "Married to a Crazy Man" is what caught his attention. Finally he turned to me with tears in his eyes and said:
"Dad, why did that girl marry a crazy man?" [...]

Thank God all of that awful college football is over. It was really stressing out the kindergartener in this house. Garrett is of a peaceful, non-warring species, like his mother. The boys are super excited about Halloween this year. Gavin said it is his favorite holiday, but we'll see if it takes a backseat to Christmas in a month.

The Climbing Tree Fell Down

Our big, nice climbing tree came down last night in the wind. The boys haven't seen it yet, they're at Grammy and Papa Geno's with Sara. I'm not sure if I should cut it up and take it away before they get back, or should I let it lay there on it's side for the boys to see. It's a Wax Myrtle, which is a very common tree here that grows like a weed. Embarrassed

Gavin was embarrassed today! For the first time ever, I saw Gavin get red in the face and look very self conscious. He's nearly four (next week!) and he has Autism, so it is kind of a big deal to me. I feel like he's really healing when he shows tangible signs of a unique personality like that.
